Use of Adaptive Equipment

Lookout Pass Ski & Recreation Area is committed to providing persons with qualifying disabilities the full and equal enjoyment of its goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages and accommodations. Lookout Pass recognizes that no policy can address every possible scenario which may arise or every individuals specific needs.  Lookout Pass allows the use of adaptive devices or other manually and electric-powered mobility aids designed and manufactured for use by individuals who have disabilities, including without limitation, electric get-a-bouts, wheelchairs, and recumbent trikes.  If your preferred device is not listed, we would request anyone seeking an exception or modification to this policy to contact us seven (7) days prior to the date of your arrival.  Contact may be made by calling 208-744-1234 or email: info@skilookout.com.

Please note that there are bollards placed at various spots along the trail to prevent motorized vehicles from entering the trail.  The bollards are posts that are spaced approximately 38" apart. Please advise us in advance should your device be wider than 38" and we will be happy to remove bollards to allow for more width.

A wheelchair ramp with adjacent parking is availabe on the uphill side of our base lodge at Lookout Pass, via a service road.  All lodge services are available on the main level.

Designated handicapped parking spaces are available on the Hiawatha Trail at the East Portal Trailhead (top elevation trailhead) and the Pearson Trailhead (bottom trailhead).  There are restrooms and picnic tables at both of these trailheads.

Our shuttle buses can transport you and your device from the Pearson Trailhead to the Roland Trailhead (near the top).  We can also arrange for special transportation with advance notice to coordinate with our Trail Staff.
